CFA Society Finland is excited to support the Collaborative Women in Investment Management Initiative. This collaboration is a partnership among more than 80 CFA societies, FPA chapters and industry groups across US, Canada, EMEA and LatAm to demonstrate the commitment of the finance community to inclusion and diversity, and to support the advancement and development of female leaders of all backgrounds. Together, Collaborative WIM and its supporting organizations provide high-caliber programming, professional development and geography-agnostic networking opportunities to support finance professionals of all backgrounds in their personal career journey.

This is a grassroots campaign:

  • To empower female professionals across all facets of the finance industry

  • To support the advancement and development of female leaders, as well as to celebrate their accomplishments

  • To establish a broad-based community and share resources to promote our shared vision

  • To create demand for diversity

With a combined member base exceeding 60,000, this partnership will enhance networking opportunities at all levels and facilitate the formation of a peer support system for members. The CFA Society network also sees the new world of virtual programming as an opportunity to build a global community, and to share resources to create exceptional programs.

The Collaborative WIM initiative held its inaugural event on 29 September 2020, hosted virtually by the CFA Society Chicago Women’s Network. This was the first in a series of programs designed to celebrate female leaders and inspire young professionals.

Diversity matters because diverse groups of people bring different perspectives to problem-solving. Industry participants now acknowledge the importance of gender diversity, and the importance of work structure and flexibility in attracting a diverse workforce.

While reasons driving firms to seek greater diversity may differ, effective understanding of workforce composition and motivations are critical contributors to the collaborative cultures we need in the investment industry.
