CFA Society Finland is excited to start another season of local Research Challenge. This round we have a record number of 14 student teams from three countries joining, with the following nine universities: Aalto University, Hanken School of Business, JAMK University, Stockholm School of Economics, Riga, Tallinn University of Technology, University of Eastern Finland, University of Tartu, University of Turku, and University of Vaasa.
We are very happy to welcome Tokmanni Group Oyj as subject company this year. Tapio Arimo, CFO, gave the kick-off audience on 4th November a comprehensive and insightful presentation on Tokmanni and the sector it represents. We also had the pleasure to listen to presentations from Quartr and FactSet who are kindly offering their data platforms for students’ use to help with their research work. Many thanks to Emil Persson and Adam Thelander, Quartr and Markus Olsson, Henrik Emanuelsson, FactSet for participating at the kick-off event.
CFA Society Finland Research Challenge team with Antti Ihalainen, CFA, Tuomas Hillukkala, CFA, Alexander Matyushkin, CFA, and Endriko Võrkleav, CFA, have been hard at work to start off the competition and recruiting mentors and graders. And as the students will begin now their intensive work of researching the company and drafting their reports, we are hoping for an interesting and productive period and learning more about the finance profession. We wish all the teams good luck on your research!
