CLO themed event started the Society’s fall
CFA Society Finland kicked off a new season of events on 30th September with an engaging breakfast session “Navigating CLOs: Market Dynamics and Investment Potential”. The event brought together CFA members and candidates for a deep dive into this asset class. We happily welcomed Cathy Bevan, Head of Structured Credit and a Portfolio Manager for Alcentra’s structured credit funds, and Colin McGinnis, Partner, PennantPark to present on the topic.
The discussions shed light on the evolving world of Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) and their role in today’s financial markets. Some key topics included: CLO Structure & Tranches, Debt vs. Equity in CLOs, Market Dynamics – Comparing the U.S. and European CLO markets, Benefits of CLOs from portfolio diversification and access to leveraged loan markets, and Growth Trends – CLO issuance has surged over the past decade, highlighting their increasing importance in global credit markets.
Thank you to our members and candidates for joining us for this fall event, and special thanks to our event sponsors BPS-Alcentra with Tatiana Lazareva and David Andersson, and PennantPark with Florus van Meijl and Boaz Magid. Big thanks for vising our Society, hope to continue the conversation!
