We are pleased to welcome as keynote speaker, Ian Chappell, Head of Value-Add & Development Strategies at BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts, who will present on “The Case for European Development.”
Following the keynote, Ian will be joined for a panel discussion by Henri Hakala, Founder and CEO of Reagle Oy, and Markku Leppälä, CFA, Portfolio Manager, International Real Estate Investments, Elo.

Ian Chappell
Ian is currently Head of Development & Value-Add Strategies within the real estate fund management team at BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts and is based in London. He joined BNPP AM Alts (formerly “AXA IM Alts”) in 2007 and has been responsible for capital raising, investment strategy, performance and investor relationships across a broad suite of open and closed-ended pooled funds, separate accounts and joint-venture structures. Ian has over 30 years of industry experience through several market cycles. He has worked in Europe's principal real estate markets, covering commercial, living, hospitality and alternative sectors and across core, core-plus, value-added and opportunistic strategies..
Henri Hakala
Henri Hakala is the founder and CEO of Reagle Oy. Reagle is a Nordic real estate advisor operating in Finland and Sweden through four service lines — Transactions, Value Creation, Corporate Real Estate, and Intelligence. The company has grown over nine years into one of Finland's largest real estate advisory firms. Henri has extensive experience in real estate markets from both an advisory and investor perspective. He is driving Reagle toward becoming a Nordic-scale operator, with data-driven approaches and modern ways of working as its competitive advantages.
Markku Leppälä, CFA
Markku is a Portfolio Manager at Elo, responsible for the firm’s global real estate investments outside Finland. He oversees a portfolio of approximately €1.5 billion in assets under management, spanning traditional private equity real estate and credit, joint ventures, co-investments, and listed REITs. Prior to his current role, Markku worked across equity investments, management consulting, risk management, and direct real estate roles at Elo, KPMG, and Aberdeen Asset Management. He holds a Master’s degree in real estate finance from Aalto University (formerly Helsinki University of Technology) and is a CFA charterholder.
